Living in the pandemic has made us more anxious, stressed and uncertain; We find ourselves overwhelmed with change.
That is why self-care is more important now than ever before.
Self-care starts with tending to your own needs. When was the last time you had me-time? Take some time off today, go for a run, spend time with your loved ones, and do the things you like to do.
To get you started, here are 8 self-care items you need to have in your life:
1. SPF lotion
Start loving yourself by loving your skin. Wearing sunscreen is so important! It protects us from damaging UV rays and keeps our skin radiant. Contrary to popular belief, it’s imperative to wear SPF everyday — even when you think it’s not sunny outside.
2. Healthy snacks
Make self-care a part of your meal. If you’re hungry and craving for an afternoon snack, opt for nutritious foods such as nuts, raisins, whole grain breads! They do you so much good as compared to unhealthy chips.
3. The right bag for you
Previously, I used to carry flimsy tote bags, and it was so frustrating because my bag could never securely contain my laptop. I also start to realize that my shoulders would ache from the thin straps, which made my bad posture worse!
This year, I finally decided to invest in a sturdy tote bag with pockets and compartments, and it was truly life-changing.
4. Cute gym clothes
Look good, so you feel good! It’s true, when you put on new running shoes, or your favourite workout shirt, you get motivated to exercise. Pull out your fun, feel good outfits and make exercising a regular part of your daily routine.
5. Essential oils
Do you like using essential oils? From helping to alleviate headaches to boosting better sleep, aroma therapy has proven to reduce stress levels. Whenever I have a bad day, I like putting a few drops of lavender FLO essential oil in my scent diffuser to lift my mood!

Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink water! Throughout the day, make sure to constantly stay hydrated no matter how busy you are. If it helps, get yourself a pretty hydro flask, set reminders on your phone or use water-tracking apps to motivate yourself to drink up.
8. Comfortable Home Slippers
We put our feet through alot, so we ought to really pamper them! These slippers are from Hooga and they are so comfortable. It’s the ultimate work from home shoes and I love them.
